Terrace couldn't be more thrilled to have been named Kraft Hockeyville 2009!!!
Northern BC resorts will be featured on an upcoming Ride Guide episode on Rush HD, on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 8 pm Eastern (5 pm Pacific).
Ride Guide’s “Northern BC” episode, (Ride Guide Snow 140) documents a two week road trip with Peter Velisek, Richard Small and Thom Westcott, to Wells, Barkerville, Troll Mountain, Mt Shames and Smithers.
Kraft Hockeyville 2009 will determine its winner for the fourth annual competition after a final voting period between Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. and March 4 at 9 p.m.
The Terrace Hockeyville committee has established as 3 million the number of votes it feels it will need to take the Hockeyville title.
Locally, individuals, groups and businesses are being asked “What’s your number?” in a pledge campaign.
Find pledge sheets and buttons in local businesses, pledge your number and stick to it.
Voting is unlimited so vote often. If you voted during the last phase, the committee asks that you triple your votes.
Claiming the title not only puts the spotlight on Terrace but also brings the community $100,000 toward upgrades for the Terrace Sportsplex and an NHL exhibition game in September 2009.
This will be a lively, fun filled march down Lakesle Avenue on February 28, 2009; everyone is invited to participate. Wear your jerseys or wacky costumes - bring your posters, hockey sticks and noise makers…..whistles, horns and ????
